A birthday to treasure – June 1, 2014 (photos by Bob and Tami)
INSTIGATORS
Haruka broached the idea of celebrating Camille’s 60th birthday and she thought of everything from guest list to cards to candles. Bob and Tami helped her pull it all together.
THE NEW HOUSE ON THE POND
Tami and Lyle opened their newly built home for the party with its spacious deck and swimming pond.
GOOD TIMES
GOOD FRIENDS
LINDA AND HER TASTER
Linda and Camille share a laugh. She and her husband Bruce brought bread and veggies cooked in a solar oven.
POETRY
The afternoon flowed like poetry, especially when Jason read his handwritten poem aloud.
Time
In your pocket
Is burning a hole.
A wide, gaping
Crispy-edged
Abyss.
You
Feel an urge
To fill it all in.
To make it appear
As if never there.
Streaks
Of dusty grey
Mingle through your hair
And wrinkled reminders
Add to the dread within.
Skin
Does not reflect
The trail you have traveled
And nor can it remove
The youth you will collect.
Thoughts
Of growing old
Will make you feel so.
But nothing will ever change.
That you go on forever.
CARL GETS IN ON THE ACT
Camille felt rather strongly about including Carl in the celebrations so everyone hiked down through the woods to see her favorite tree.
SWINGING
And then it was time to play on the swing and perhaps go for a swim.

BOB’s SIGNATURE CAN OPENER
Now here’s a man who knows how to make a big splash at a party.
AWWWWW…
Bob knows that the fastest way to Cookie’s heart is through her belly.
DEATH BY CHOCOLATE
This cake was seriously over-the-top rich and chocolaty. Amazingly we took enough home to keep Camille in dessert for nearly a week after the party.
