The glory days of Autumn in which Piedmont Tropicals bears fruit, Matt and Dana tie the knot and Piedmont Biofarm prepares for winter – October, 2015
PIEDMONT TROPICALS
The greenhouse on the south end of the property is beginning to bear fruit, thanks to Bob and Malcom’s diligent care. Baby ginger on the left and Turmeric ripe for harvesting on the right.
POTLUCK DEBUT
Bob debuts Piedmont Tropicals’ first ginger harvest at the monthly Local Food Friday potluck lunch and Farmer/Chef Geoff is pleased.
PRE-NUPTUALS
Our crew worked hard to put a super spiff on the grounds after which the wedding planners swooped in with colorful paper flowers.
GOOD WINE, GOOD FRIENDS
The tables laden with promises of revelry await while the guests including Jason, Claire, Haruka await the ceremony.
CHUPPAH IN THE ARBOR
One hundred or so guests sat under the shade of the maple tree as sun blazed through the kiwi vines on the arbor, and yellow jackets sampled beer from their cups. Tami holds the skyped-in, live image of esteemed guest Frankie, all the way from France so he too could witness the wedding of his dear friends Matt and Dana. Photo credit goes to Tami Schwerin for the beautiful photo on the right.
HIGH TUNNELS FOR WINTER
Piedmont Biofarm‘s crew has worked long and hard to install three state-of-the-art high tunnels for year-round abundance.
GLORY DAYS OF AUTUMN
Sumac glows red against a blue sky on the south side of building 3. Kyle shows off a tub of gorgeous greens for Saturday market.
