SPRING CLEANING

SILVER AND MONTY GET A BATH - April 13, 2006

Sharyl and Camille decided to take advantage of one of the first days to reach into the 80's.

FIRST WE WASHED THE WHITE HORSE

And oh, how he gleamed in the sun!  We wanted Silver to dry and get all brushed out before turning him loose so he wouldn't roll in the dirt.

It didn't take long for him to wonder if we were ever going to turn him loose so he could eat.

I think he knows just how beautiful he is after his bath and maybe thinks it was worth all that waiting around.

On the other hand, maybe not.  Here he looks longingly at the green spring grass.

THEN WE WASHED THE BAY HORSE

Monty, aged 9 and a year younger than Silver, was a bit more squirrelly about the hose and cold water, so it was a good thing we started with Silver and got our process refined.  His look is one of frustration because he thought he was going to stand at the fence and eat until we tied him up a little higher.

The hair pattern on his neck reminds me of the Curly Bashkir breed.

But, oh how handsome he was after we were finished with him!  He is either thinking that his trip to the beauty parlor was worth it, or  imagining the taste of those tender spring shoots of grass.

After getting all dirty cleaning up her two handsome boys, Sharyl went inside, took a shower and changed clothes.  She emerged looking magnificent but I was unable to capture her elusive beauty with my camera.  Maybe, next time...
