OUR NEW HOME - NORTH CAROLINA

NORTH CAROLINA IS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE

Especially this time of year when the trees are turning color.  We took the opportunity for a walk in this park outside Durham after unloading our household at Oilseed and dropping off the U-Haul.

TIME TO PAUSE AND REFLECT

Moving can be quite stressful unless you make time to enjoy the outdoors along the way.  Bob built a daily walk into our schedule, turning what could have been a taxing week into an enjoyable one.

AT THE END OF THE DAY

The sun goes down on another busy day as we settle into our new home in Moncure.  Our lawn chairs have already made themselves at home in the yard outside our house.

OUR MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM WITH A VIEW

Our temporary bedroom is plenty big for sleeping, surfing the web, and making Tempeh.  The view out our window is bright and cheery.

EIGHTY-THREE ACRES

Our daily walks will be quite easy given the open space around our new home.  Elena joined Camille and Jessi for a walk on this evening.

MAKING NEW TRAILS

Lucy, Ian and Jessi's Chocolate Lab, Camille, Elena, Ian and Link work on making the creek crossing a little easier by dropping large stones into the water.  When it rains, this route will require a bridge.  We all like the idea of walking from our home to work.  It is about a mile through the woods on foot but is about five miles by car.

AND NEW FRIENDS

.

Everyone has been extremely generous and helpful.  Link shared food and showed us the way across the creek.  Elena helped us carry our stuff inside the house.  She has since moved away.  Ian baked a delicious apple cake for Pot Luck Sunday, starting with this perfect cone of flour.

A GREAT ATTITUDE

Cait had a great attitude and we were sad to hear she was moving on, so Bob gave her a T-Shirt to remember us by.
