CAYMAN WILD LIFE

Bob and Camille Playing Tourist on Grand Cayman Island, May, 2007

FIRST STOP, THE BEACH!

And who could resist the perfect beaches of Cayman?  Absolutely the finest white sand and crystal clear water we have ever seen.

TROUBLE ON THE HORIZON

Are we talking about the storm clouds or the cruise ships?  Both are necessary, in that cruise ships bring life-giving money to the island, while the clouds bring life-giving rain.  Grand Cayman is host to up to fifteen cruise ships a day at the height of their season.  Or so we heard.  Camille strides confidentially towards both kinds of trouble on this beautiful day.

WELCOME TO HELL, HAVE A NICE DAY

A must-see stop on every tourist's bingo card, Hell is named for the look of the limestone rock formations found there.  We joined the crowd and mailed out postcards from Hell.

BEACH BABES

We found iguana art, inspired by the rare Blue Iguana, all over the island - including this painted lady iguana.

THAT NATURE THING

When Bob found out there was a botanical garden on the island, we had to go.  The Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park is home to a protected group of Blue Iguanas which roam the grounds at will.

AND WHAT A PHOTOGENIC BUNCH THEY WERE!

BIRDS, OLD AND NEW

We already had the Tri-colored Heron on our bird list, but were able to add the Greater Antillean Grackle to it.

TANK FROGS

When Bob and Larry looked into Larry's tanks, they found these cute little critters.
