WINTER GETS SERIOUS

Riding out a snow storm in our little town

February 15, 2006

(Dedicated to our good friend, Wilma on Maui, where it doesn't snow very often)

It snowed a little the night before...

Camille walked Bob to work along the tracks and everything was white.

The grain elevator and the parking lot.  Ours was the only car left after everyone else went out for the day.  Our bikes are underneath the stairs.

This barn marks the spot where a farm once lived.  The land has been taken over by residential development.  Most of the people who live in Berthoud drive to another city to work.

You couldn't really see the snow for the wheat stubble in the fields.

LATER THAT NIGHT

It began to snow again.  Big, fat flakes!

That turned into a flurry of flakes.

Covering everything, including our back porch, sun-sitting, deck chairs.

THE NEXT MORNING

Everything was buried in snow!

We had gotten between 5 and 6 inches overnight.
