UNDER THE BRIDGE

The first thing we saw were a colony of Cliff Swallow Nests  underneath the bridge.  It makes sense they would nest under bridges because their favorite food source, flying insects are also attracted to the shade of the bridge. I was surprised to find that the birds use the same nests year after year.

 

THE RIVER

 

Tempestuous and idyllic, depending on where you encounter it.  For a closer look at the swirling water, click on the photo on the left.  The stock panels in the picture on the right are to keep livestock from drifting down river after they have had their drink.

 

MAN ON A TRESTLE

Bob stands calmly on a trestle which is no more than timbers resting on supports with railroad ties on top.

 

COOKIE DIVES IN

 

Camille dives off into the Russian Olives with their intoxicating scent and somehow resisted the urge to sit on the fallen log on the right.

 

CATTAILS AND COTTON

 

Bob's photographer's eye spied these two wonders of nature - plants that fluff up into something you want to roll around on or maybe just stuff your pillow with.

 

KNEE ENACTMENT

Camille re-enacts the scene of her torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) on the very spot where it happened thirteen years ago.
