A CALIFORNIA CAMPUS TOUR

Bob, Camille and Amy check out three California Universities

January 11 - 15, 2006

CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY AT LONG BEACH (CSULB OR CAL STATE LONG BEACH)

Amy was definitely able to 'see' herself going to Cal State Long Beach.  In fact, so were we! It was an undeniably beautiful campus and the student housing was especially sweet - homey, little units nestled in among trees and lawn - very nice!

After a cold winter in Colorado, Amy warmed up to the weather in Southern California right away.

We spent hours wandering the campus and found lots of pretty surprises, such as this piece of towering art.

CHOREOGRAPH WALL

We had never seen a choreograph plan before coming across this excerpt an outside wall near the Dance Center.  The architecture and landscaping on this beautiful campus was 'choreographed' as well!

LONG BEACH PYRAMID

Needless to say, we were mesmerized by the gymnasium, which dominated the landscape.

Camille liked the pyramid, too.

The campus was packed with bike trails and green lawns.  We also noticed a flock of green parrots flying around campus.

SAN DIEGO STATE

All things being equal, Amy would put San Diego State at the top of her list.

As the pyramid dominated the CSULB campus, this gem of a building (on the left) set the tone for the San Diego State campus.
