STIRRING
IT UP

Morgan stirs the
gravy with the practiced eye of a connoisseur. Mr. Pickles gets after some
drippings in the corner of a paper bag. Likely he was encouraged by
Jeremy, who is also good at stirring things up.

SATIATED

Eleven of us sat
down to dinner and ate our fill. From left: Camille, Bonnie, David, Greg,
Morgan, Bob, Jill, Andy, Sarah, Jeremy and Gabe. Before we ate, Jill asked
that each of us take a moment to share what we were thankful for. Turned
out we all had quite a bit to feel good about.

NOW WHAT?

After we ate there
was plenty of food left but no more room in our stomachs. Mr. Pickles was
guessing that we probably needed to get up and stretch our legs.

Laughing and
talking, we walked down to the Haw River and across the Bynum footbridge.
With an obligatory stop to lean over the railings and gaze at the river
below. We were thankful for the life-giving water and for the bridge
keeping us high and dry.

PIE EYED

After our
walk, Jill made some coffee and we prepared to eat some more. Bob and Gabe
eyed the selection which included Pumpkin, Apple and Custard Pies and Ice
Cream. So many wonderful cooks – another thing to be thankful for!

FUN AND
GAMES

Bob brought our crokinole
board and it became the featured game of the afternoon/evening.
Sharpshooter Jill takes aim. Greg kibitzes. Camille demonstrates her
streaky blend of hits and misses.
