August 23, 2014
A celebration of Family and Life

Our Dear Aunt Jeanette, Janice’s older sister passed away at the age of 89 on August 19, 2014 four months shy of her ninetieth birthday on December 18th. The Memorial Service was held at Covenant United Methodist Church in Montgomery Village, Maryland just a few blocks from the Sunrise Village, Jeanette’s home of sixteen years.

MEMORIAL SERVICE AND RECEPTION

At the service Bob delivered an eulogy, a tribute Camille was uncertain she could share with any sense of coherence. And then we gathered in the reception room for family bonding and lunch provided by our generous cousins and their families.

Pastor Amanda joined the family for this photo, a woman who delivered the best funeral sermon we have ever heard.

What Bob read:
Our Aunt Jeanette lives in all whose lives she touched.

We see her in Brian’s wry sense of humor,
Grace’s quiet strength
and our mother Janice’s spontaneity.

She had clarity and insight,
was well-informed and a great conversationalist.
Opinionated but not judgmental,
Self-contained but not aloof,
unpretentious but not shy.

Jeanette was a stabilizing force in the family,
always available and full of insight.

I doubt she realized how much of an impact she had on all of us.

Rest in peace Aunt Jeanette, we love you.
