We spent the Summer getting to know a whole new group of people while many of our expat friends were overseas on holiday. Now that people are returning to Kumasi, we had great fun getting both groups together. August, 2013 – Kumasi
VILLA SANKOFA
Our host, Marvil (far right) darted from her busy kitchen for a few minutes to greet her guests at the bar. Ingrid sets herself up with a beer while Bill inspects a bottle of Villa Sankofa’s signature drink, Sorro a gingered hibiscus tea. Chrissie catches up with Elisabeth and both get to know Prasad.

PRESS HARD
On the way to dinner in the Villa Van, we stopped to fuel up and Prasad jumped out to buy a bottle of Scotch. Which he shared with everyone who wanted some. Sala was hard pressed to dissuade Prasad from being over-generous and may have gotten a little more than she bargained for but was a good sport. Prasad always introduces himself with a firm handshake, looks you in the eye and says, “Press Hard” until you ‘get’ it.
PONY GIRL
The kids brought their stable of My Little Ponies which totally made both Camille and Linda’s evening. Linda once owned a farm with upwards of a dozen horses. On the way home, Linda and Camille entertained each other with one horse story after another.
HAPPINESS IS NEW FRIENDS
Our goal was to get people together who had not met and the evening was a big success. The food was delicious, Linda performed a stunning fire dance, Sala worked her butt off and Frank introduced himself as a massage therapist.
INGRID
Party number two was at Ingrid’s home in honor of her 55th birthday.
FABULOUS FOOD
We all brought a little something to eat or drink and added it to the already heavily-laden table. Chris and Manoj share food and conversation as do Patick, Louise and Susanna.
