Our last days in Amy’s company were made even more special with the arrival of Kat, Justin and Miki – April 2 – 5, 2015
NEARLY FINISHED
Bob and Amy took the truck and shell for a test drive to make sure everything was secure before adding the back door.
SMOKY B&B – A JOB WELL DONE
Amy celebrates the completion of her new accommodations in her little truck Smoky and shares a look at the interior with Haruka-san. Bob and Amy worked long hours to create the wooden camper shell which features a sleeping platform with storage the height of a milk crate below, windows above and a door to it all.
WONDERS OF THE PLANT WORLD
In our yard and in the woods, there was an abundance of new plant growth to explore including paw paw and Stropharia rugosoannulata from our Wine Cap garden.
WOODS WALK
Amy, Kat, Miki and Justin joined us for a stroll through Lyle and Tami’s woods for an up-close look at Spring. Kat and Amy’s fascination with the plant world was a pleasure to behold.
Along the way we ran into Tami and her dogs Tigger and Monkey, out for their morning run. Bob paused at a garden gate that Lyle fashioned from an old jail house door.
REUNITED
Our wonderful house mate from Kumasi and his beautiful Miki took the train down from New York city to join us on Easter weekend.
BLAST FROM THE PAST
Justin’s first encounter with the Trouts Farm mascot, Mini-Spot at Lake Bosumtwi in July of 2012 and Miki’s introduction to our welcome ritual during her visit to Casa Kumasi in April, 2013
REDBUD
These edible blooms are an uplifting sign of warmer weather to come.
ADIOS
Parents everywhere can appreciate the mixed emotions that accompany the departure of their children into the world beyond. Amy makes us proud with her indomitable spirit, intellectual curiosity and lust for adventure, yet the tears well up whenever she leaves Trouts Farm.
