Our 5th annual open house bean fest – January 1, 2016
We threw our first Hoppin’ John party in 2010 and host annually with the exception of 2013, when we were living overseas.
OFFICIAL TROUTSFARM GREETER
Everyone gets their photo taken with Spot, our life-sized zebra mascot. Haruka’s sisters Erika, Nodoka and her niece Emma were visiting from Japan. And Jules.
Amie, Alisa and their friend Dallas.
Fred, Gabi and Tony.
AQUAFABA MERINGUES
Aqua-what?! Linda made animal-free meringues using bean water. They were delicious, easily passing the Emma taste test. Here’s a link to Linda’s recipe on her Cook for Good site: Aquafaba lemon meringues. Celebrate the Bean!
LUCKY US
There’s no better way to start the year than sharing a bowl of Hoppin’ John with friends. Our vegan menu included black-eyed peas, greens, rice, fried ‘sausage’, cornbread and champagne with orange juice.
FUN FOR ALL
We enjoyed many laughs around the crokinole board and mimosa bar.
