A most memorable month! Emily married Tyler, we met Bob’s grandson, Nolan, we stayed with Rob and Sharyl, and then with Shirley, and we connected with Camille’s brother, Michael, and load of other Colorado friends. Back home, we celebrated Bob’s birthday, harvested our first paw paw, made Kentucky Fried Tofu, went to a concert, and hung out with our friend David.
REHEARSAL DINNER
Tyler’s parents, Tina and Roger hosted the pre-wedding meet-and-greet at beautiful Mariana Butte Golf Course. All three daughters were looking quite lovely, as per usual. More photos on this page: Rehearsal Dinner
THE BIG DAY
We spent the next day at pretty Lone Hawk Farm, helping set up for the wedding and enjoying the festivities. Emily and Tyler were the most handsome imaginable. More pictures at: Emily and Tyler’s Wedding
FUN IN FORT COLLINS
Our good friends Sharyl and Rob put us up for four nights while we ran around doing wedding stuff and reconnecting with friends. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Tony and Felicia Klitch’s place with their children, Tim and Margie, and Joel and Robin. Lots more pictures of our fine stay here: Fort Collins Friends
DENVERITES
A most memorable three nights in Denver at Shirley’s unique house included breakfast with Cathi and Fred, quality time with brother Michael, and a garden party attended by Emily and Tyler and family.
Bob paid a visit to his vice partner, Mahlon and we went to see what Garth has been up to. These photos and more at: Denver Friends
MEANWHILE, BACK HOME
The paw paw tree was busy pushing out our first fruit and the roses were in full bloom.
A CONCERT, BECAUSE
There’s always something going on down at The Plant and this month it was a series of three fund-raising concerts. Concerts for a Cause raised money to support Alzheimer’s NC, the Zafer Julian Estill Memorial Fund, and Chatham Partnership for Children. We weren’t surprised when our friends and next door neighbors Buffy and Zoila showed up at the concert to benefit the Zafer Fund.
HONORING ZAFER
Saludos Company provided great tunes, and Zafer’s grandmother got on stage with Amy, the event organizer and gave a heartfelt speech about her grandson.
FUN AND FACE PAINTING
Lexie and her daughter India played a game of chess while Amie painted faces.
BEST WAY TO EAT TOFU
Why eat chicken when you can dine on KFT? This is seriously, much better than chicken less expensive. Here’s the Recipe: Kentucky Fried Tofu
BIRTHDAY POTLUCK
We celebrated Bob’s 58th birthday with a neighborhood potluck. Buffy brought brie and jam baked in puff pastry!
SELFIE!
David took Spot’s selfie with Cookie and Bob. We miss our neighbor David since he moved to South Carolina and are happy to see him when he is in town.
