Two party weekends, some high water, a snow storm, garden starts, the grand kids, free eggs, and cheddar biscuits. Oh yeah.
SUPER BOWL WEEKEND
A fun weekend with our friends Heyward and Caroline involving disc golf on Saturday and Chili Cook-off and game watching on Sunday. More at: Super Bowl Weekend
HOME, SWEET, HOME
Spot keeps an eye on the Moncure Pittsboro Road from his front porch stall, while those Hellebores Stuart gifted us bloom in the back yard.
GARDEN STARTS
All is going according to plan. We tucked in the ginger starts, planted seeds and watched them come up.
HIGH WATER
There were several big rain events this month which made for a raucous ditch and Jordan Lake Dam spillway.
SIGNS
Camille does her best to take in the gravity of a high-water danger warning. Bob has earned Hilton Diamond Member reserved parking through his work travel.
SHARING IS CARING
Camille took over Judy’s animal chores while she recuperated from hip surgery, earning social points and fresh eggs.
VALENTINE’S WEEKEND
Another two-tiered weekend: Dinner with the Estill men on Friday, and Valentine Weekend Comedy Improv Dinner Theatre on Saturday.
INDUSTRIOUSNESS
Bob asked Arlo to silkscreen his Hempsmith logo on a tee shirt that daughter, Amy dyed using natural leaves. A squirrel digs an acorn from our front lawn.
MICRO GARDEN
Mosses and other mini-flora flourish in the fertile soil of our dormant totes.
IT’S STILL WINTER
And just to prove it, Mother Nature sent us a pretty little snow storm.
TUCKING IN
Nothing says breakfast like Tofu scramble and cheddar biscuits.
THE NEXT GENERATION
Cute as buttons, those grand kids. Nolan in the butterfly house. Evie in her bath.

THIS MONTH’S QUOTES:
“We have enough politicians who cater to people who treat politics as the place they go to get self-indulgent moral affirmation baths. We need someone who can improve the lives of actual Americans” – David Brooks
“I think, whether we’re talking about gender inequality or racism or queer rights or indigenous rights or animal rights, we’re talking about the fight against injustice. We’re talking about the fight against the belief that one nation, one people, one race, one gender or one species has the right to dominate, control and use and exploit another with impunity.” – Joaquin Phoenix
“All gardens are asking for attention all the time, and the return for that attention is to gift you an essential now, the present moment, where you are face to face with the nature of things.” – Niall Williams, author of This Is Happiness
