Stumble Inn

Stumble Inn – A place to refresh and replenish

A GREAT PLACE TO TAKE A BEACH BREAK

When we decided to head to the coast, Bob booked us a room for two nights at the beach.

A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE

Looking south across the Atlantic is a new thing for Camille who grew up on the Eastern shore looking west across the ocean. On our first evening we walked towards the rocks to the east.

WEST SIDE

The next morning we walked west. Yes, as you can see we were plowing through an aggressive agenda.

WET FEET

Salt water is balm for the soles.

SLEEPING AND EATING

This group takes their vacations seriously. The first thing on Jeremy and Lauren’s agenda was a hammock nap. Meals were served right on the beach. Here’s Laura, Louis, Lauren, Jeremy and Justin eating breakfast before heading over to Elmina.

SERIOUSLY

We can’t stress enough how seriously we took the relaxing part of our visit to Stumble Inn.

DOG’S EYE VIEW

Spot, the managers’ dog watches the traffic up the beach. In the morning villagers from the west walked east to Elmina and in the afternoon they returned.

BEACH DOGS

There were four beach dogs who made it their business to accompany visitors up the beach.

TYPICAL CATS AND DOGS

Aloof kitty, fawning dog. Lauren watches Louis photograph a young cat in the beach bar with his nice Nikon camera which he later entrusted to us to continue taking photos of Ghana after he returned to the States. Justin and his new best friend, the brindled beach dog.

LAUREN GETS HER SHARE

Of doggie love and relaxing with fry bread Camille brought from home. She also is sporting the fabulous lobster tan she got while napping in the hammock the day before.

YOU GUESSED IT

Yep, you guessed it – more relaxing and playing on the rocks.

ON THE ROCKS

Something about a rock that makes you want to climb up on top of it. Plus there wasn’t much else going on. So up we scrambled and then stared south towards Antarctica.

MAKING A SPLASH

Justin enjoys splashing around in the water while Bob inspects the tide pools.

BEAUTY ON THE BEACH

Seaweed and a ladybug-like beetle on the sand.

BEACH VILLAGE

A woman heads home from town in a small beach side community.

THE ROOM

Our little cottage and bed.

THE BATHROOM

The room came with a composting toilet. Open the lid, use, sprinkle in ashes, close lid.
