Last Days in Moncure

Last Days in Moncure – Enjoying the last few weeks of family, friends and creature comforts before embarking on an African adventure.

 LOCAL TALENT

We were happy to receive much needed help with our website transition from our friend Ian and couldn’t believe he’d never been to our house before. New friend, Ali came by to whisk Camille away for a long walk along the creek.

SUNSHINE AND WINE BERRIES

We have enjoyed the most wonderful, long Spring complete with crisp, clear days and delicious Wine Berries from Betsy.

FAMILY VISIT

Shane’s mother Stacey and her partner, Frank drove into town in their fine motor home and spent a few days getting to know the area.

 THE WHOLE GANG

Before we knew it, everyone was here! Adam, Garth and Amy drove in from Asheville and Shane and Molly joined us for some quality time on the back deck.

JUST HANGING OUT

Getting caught up and relaxing was the goal of our family weekend and we took it seriously. With a side trip to examine the finished root cellar next door, of course.

A LITTLE WALK

We stretched our legs with a little stroll over to Lyle and Tami’s pond to check out the progress on their new home. Looks like everything is progressing nicely.

FRAMEWORK

The tour took us past the sweat lodge ingeniously crafted from bent boughs.

THE LONG AND THE SHORT OF IT

Jim stopped by for some catching up and we realized that although he and his crew spent weeks bringing our house up to bank standards, we had not yet taken his photo with Spot. And Rachel brought Linus by for his second annual birthday photo.
