BOB
AND CAMILLE AT HOME ON MAUI

WHAT’S BOB MAKING THIS TIME?

It’s a batch of  Pineapple Perfection beer!

JURASSIC GARDEN

There is often something
primeval about our garden.  I’m sure I’ll see a dinosaur peek out from
behind the tree ferns one day.  What I saw this evening was Bob doing
his usual thing.

GREEN HARVEST

It’s taken nearly two years,
but we have replaced the dirt driveway with green lawn.  To do this, we
blocked the drive with a large tree limb and transplanted kikuyu
grass.  Now we can walk barefoot from the house to the garden and the
house stays clean.  Bob smiles with satisfaction while showing off
tonight’s salad as picked from that garden in bare feet on August 23rd.

A SUNSET TO REMEMBER

What can we say?
Everybody takes pictures of sunsets and shows them off.  We’re no
different.  This memorable blend of color and cloud occurred August
21st.

AT THE END OF THE DAY

Bob sips an amber beer from a
frosty glass at sunset.

We found a new use for the top
of the refrigerator.  Here are three batches of beer, including batch
13, a cherry flavored beer from a recipe called “Love
Potion.”  This fruity beer was so active when first put in the keg
that it flowed over onto the top of the refrigerator during the night.
Bob was up at 2AM August 17th cleaning up the mess.

WHAT A PAIR

See the pitchfork?  See
the Bread?  Bob working outside; Camille working inside.

HP STANDS FOR HEWLETT
PACKAGING

For shame!  All this
packaging for the two little black plastic toner cartridges at the bottom of
the photo.

THE CUTTING EDGE

Cookie cutting an edge with
the lawn shears.  The lawn keeps getting thicker and the Ylang Ylang
tree taller.

PARKING LOT EXPANSION TURNED
ARCHAEOLOGY

Look what Bob found while
expanding this parking space August 11th!  What is it?  For us, it
will be a compost screen.  Bob was afraid something might be living
under there and stood back, but nothing ran out.

MAUI RECYCLING SERVICE’S NEW
FLATBED

This brand new diesel truck
arrived August 10th.  Shaun bought an F450 and we’ll fuel it with
biodiesel.  It is larger than the other truck, which is why we expanded
the parking lot at home.

SATURDAY ROUTE

The family that works
together, stays together. This once-a-month Saturday route is easy work and
takes us away from civilization to the pretty north shore.

DINNER AND A MOVIE

Not again!  Seems like we
do this every night. . . In our little bowls and at our little table.
This August 6th we are preparing to watch Eddie Izzard, our favorite
comedian.  Dinner is bread, salad and borscht

COOKIE LOVES THE OUTDOORS

Here she is with a bunch of
arugula for dinner and a pink daisy.  Camille had a lot of fun pulling
grass from this beautiful bed of bromeliads.  The best days are those
spent outside!

CHICKEN RUN GUN

Keeping the garden safe!
The garden fences weren’t keeping the chickens away to our
satisfaction.  Now they don’t come around much and if they do, all Bob
has to do is step outside the door and they run.
