BOB
AND CAMILLE AT HOME ON MAUI

JULY’S TRASH AND RECYCLING

Measured 83 pounds with fewer
beer bottles and less plastic.

THE BIRTH OF A DREAM

Shaun surprised us by pulling
up in his new beetle July 28th.  He bought it to rent to people who are
interested in trying out biodiesel for themselves.  He has been
dreaming about Bio-Beetle Rental Cars for years and finally decided to take
the bull by the horns and make it a reality.

OUR PARKING LOT

We keep carving away at the
landscape and finding flat spots that work just great for parking.
It’s a good thing because we can use an extra parking space these
days.  Bob is driving so may routes that he brings the flat bed home so
he can get an early start in the morning.

HOME BREW

Bob is making two kinds of
beer these days – one that remains in the keg and one that he bottles.
Here he takes advantage of used Pepsi bottles which Shaun supplies.  We
can use them again and again.

BC and AD

The garden Before the Chickens
and After the chicken Defense system

Our garden looks as if it’s
wearing braces!  We came home one day to find devastation.  Those
hungry chickens had torn up many of the young plants in search of
worms.  Bob rigged up some chicken fencing which is doing a good job of
deterring them.

THE GRANNAN FAMILY COMES TO
MAUI

When the afternoon drizzle
began to soak through our shirts, the 7 of us left the garden and came
inside.  Bob waxes philosophical over a home brew while Dennis and Nick
pose for the camera.  We had lots of fun catching up with everyone’s
news.  Donna was a joy.  She sits on the couch with Chris and Ben.

THE WRITING ON THE WALL

One of the perks of picking up
recycling is the great things Bob brings home.  Rather than recycle
these maps, he taped them to the four we already had on our bedroom
wall.  We now have most of the island of Maui in USGS topographical
maps.

 BIRTHDAY BUNNY

Our garden has a new resident
– Camille’s birthday present from her Mom.  He’s a cheery fellow and
loves his new home.  The flowers seem to bloom brighter around
him.  I can’t tell you why I think he’s a he or when he will divulge
his name.
