BEAUTIFUL WASHINGTON STATE
November 16 through 22, 2007
A HOUSE WITH MANY VIEWS
This is the view outside our bedroom window at the Atomic Ranch House in Olympia, ashington, which is where we stayed for three nights with Frankie. Bob and Frankie were in town to attend a Mushroom Cultivation Seminar and Camille was along for the ride and a little quiet time.
A WALK IN THE WOODS
After we set down our bags, we went for a walk behind the house.
MOM AND POP
When we saw these two trees, they seemed to be a pair of different sexes. The tree pictured left and center seemed like the woman and the one on the right seemed like the man. We were fascinated by the rope ladder which was as covered in moss as the tree was.
A VERY WET WORLD INDEED
Everywhere we looked there were mushrooms, ferns, moss and lichens. Frankie placed a light green piece of lichen upon a mossy stump.
CHILLIN’ AT THE RIALTO – Photos from a
frozen beach
Did you see the dead seal?
HIKING TO THE HOT SPRINGS
Through the deep woods.
Across several water crossings.
To the Spring!
AND OTHER SIGHTS
The forests were teeming with life, mushrooms, moss, chipmunks and deer.
Can you find the deer?
Here it is, the hidden buck.
SALMON FISHING
Along a misty river with a rainbow.
NOT SO NICE
Clear cut is never pretty.
