BINGO!
Camille saw this life-sized metal zebra outside French Connections and knew it would be the perfect mascot for our new home. We went back the next day and bought it! We named him Spot after the main character in a comic strip we dreamed up years ago and left him with the rest of his animal friends at French Connections until after Christmas.

THE EVOLUTION OF YELLOW
We spent most of our spare time in December working on the new house. This is how it looked in September before the appraisal. The appraiser gave the bank a figure that was contingent on repairs. We now had a few weeks to get several several rooms re-painted, and have new flooring and cabinets installed.
On his second visit, the appraiser gave his approval to the bank. Camille spent one morning cutting material and lining the cabinet shelves. We closed December 7th and moved in our appliances and furniture on the two days after Christmas. More on this story at: Evolution of a Home
NEW DESK FOR BOB
What was once Matt’s father’s old desk was soon to become Bob’s new desk. It was a tight fit but Matt, Andy and Bob pulled it off.
AND OUT THE DOOR THEY WENT
There’s nothing like borrowing an appliance dolly to make the impossible doable. Thanks, Eric! After muscling the heavy desk down the stairs, the book case must have seemed as light as a feather to Matt.
HEAVE HO

APPLIANCE SWAP
We brought the refrigerator and dryer to Oilseed for temporary storage until we move our appliances out of Camelina.
HOMEGROWN
As cold as it is, and as busy as we are, Bob is still harvesting fantastic vegetables like this beautiful daikon. Thanks Jason and Haruka for showing us how to grow this great vegetable!
FOGGY MORNING WALK
Come rain or shine, we need our exercise and this morning turned out to be perfect for a walk. It’s the company that makes an outing memorable.
LINEUP
Okay, who took the cookie? Just kidding! Cookie is standing right here in the fog, between Sharon, Jessica, Jessi and Davin. Dana took the photo.
CHRISTMAS DAY CROKINOLE
A small group of friends gathered in our new home to play Crokinole, our newest addiction. Lyle has been playing this Canadian game since childhood and brought his board over on Christmas Day. Matt, Greg, Lyle and Tami absorb themselves in Matt’s shot while the kibitzers wait their turn. The Santa hats were a nice touch.
CONCENTRATION
Crokinole involves picking the shot, lining up the shot and executing the shot. Haruka exhibits the concentration required to hit the mark on all three levels.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
We set the timers and posed for the obligatory after-dinner Christmas picture on Haruka and
Jason’s couch.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO TODAY?
“Let’s go get Spot and bring him to our new house!” said Cookie, so that’s exactly what we did. Bob, Jacques and Steve did a good job loading that fractious Zebra in the U-Haul. As you can see, Spot was a bit spooked by the situation.
SAVANNAHLAND
Spot called out to his old friends for several days, but by the end of the month he had settled in and was seen consorting with cardinals.
