The last two fabulous outings of the reunion – June 14 and 15, 2014
FUNICULAR FUN
Most of us have never heard the word “funicular“. This particular funicular goes to the top of Monte Brè and was constructed in 1912.
A MATTER OF BALANCE
Funiculars are built with two cars that balance each other. They also need to pass in the middle.
MORE VIEWS – WITH COWS
The view from the top of Monte Brè are spectacular – the trained eye can discern the TASIS campus on the Collina d\’Oro to the right. And there were cows on top – who knew? And did they take the funicular up?
GOOD TIMES
Upon descending Monte Brè, we found that a small “train” provides inexpensive service back to Lugano Centro – so we all hopped aboard for the ride – does this gang of reunionites look like they’re having fun…or what? Pictured (l to r) are Yvette, Patti, Ali, Debbie, and Jane.
TWO IF BY SEA
We realized that this vacation we traveled by planes, trains & automobiles, as well as by funicular and boat. This was the over-the-top grand finale finish to an amazing reuinion – a boat ride (with band and hors d\’oeuvres) to Morcote for a five course meal.
HAPPY CAMPERS
We had a great time in Lugano – can you tell?
IN AND AROUND THE LAKE
A nice view of Mont Brè (the conical hill in the photo on the left) from the dock in Paradiso. We took the cruise down the lake for about 45 minutes to Morcote, where we had a sumptuous meal at the Albergo-Ristorante della Posta.
NEW FRIENDS
Camille and Karen hit it off from the moment they met at JFK on the way to the reunion. Of course they both love horses!
