Camille is back in the saddle after a 26-month hiatus, thanks to Paula, with a nod to Malcolm for the introduction.
GETTING READY
AJ keeps his eye on things as Camille and Paula bustle about, preparing for the ride. Before long, he is mostly tacked up, saddle bags included and waiting for his bridle which hangs on a nearby tree limb.
THROUGH HIS EARS
One of the many pleasures of trail riding is seeing things from the equine perspective. AJ regards the ripples in a pond and searches for fairies in the woods.
TRAVELER
Paula’s dog Traveler gets to go along and being of water-dog stock, eagerly jumps into the pond before continuing along the trail.
HIDDEN TREASURES
We happened upon a vine laden with wild scuppernongs, the iconic Southern grape. Paula dives in while Ba Pu stands as patiently as possible.
A lovely old barn slowly fades into the landscape.
FAIRYLAND
We rode in a fanciful place, light-dappled and dripping with thick vines.
HAPPINESS
Camille can’t imagine anything she’d rather do than sit on a horse with a friend, talking, singing, eating wild food and discovering hidden treasures. It’s like mainlining happiness!
