TRAIL
CRAWL
March
25, 2012
In which the neighbors
on either side of Stinking Creek put aside a day to connect with each other.
Four walking destinations, all offering copious food and drink, beginning on the
north side of the creek in Abeyance and ending on the south side at the farm.
FIRST STOP
Our host, Cherry
served up barbequed chicken and bloody Mary’s for the amassing group of trail
crawlers
HAPPY FAMILY
Michelle, Aaron
and Remi start off towards the second stop. It looks as if Scott is sprouting
out of the canvas carrier hanging off Aaron’s back.
SECOND
STOP
After a short
walk, we were welcomed by the sight of Candice’s home.
A GAGGLE
Candice’s three
dogs tune into her voice as we chatted in the kitchen. Outside on the porch the
crowd began to multiply.
RELAXATION
WITH A CAPITAL R
Everyone was
enjoying themselves!
SHEEP
Some of us were mesmerized
by Candice’s sheep.
HERD MATES
Rachel, Scott and
Linus and Camille all hail from the south side of the creek. McCayne took a nice
picture of the animal lover with the sheep herd.
COLD WATER
CROSSING
Spring rain had
made the creek run high so M B took off her shoes to wade across and found the
water to be cold.
THIRD AND
FOURTH STOPS – THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE CREEK
Third stop – Tami
and Lyle’s place where Kathie and Tami get a chance to get caught up. Janice and
Jim work on some beer and Susan licks the frosting off her fingers from a
cupcake.
Fourth stop –
Trouts Farm. Tami’s dog Monkey was brave enough to expose himself to so many
strangers but kept a firm grip on his security blanket.
PLAYING
AROUND
Kathie shares a
moment with Spot. Jesse and his friend made up a game to play with our spinning
clothes dryer.
WELCOME!
Spot happily
welcomed Stephanie, Cheryl Ann, Laura, Jim and their lovely children.
ANIMAL
LOVERS
Sam, Sheldon and
MB obviously have a way with animals, giving Spot a triple dose of TLC.
CROKINOLE
No party at our
house is complete without a little practice for Tavistock. Olivia got an
introduction to the game while Bob, Lyle and Scott continued honing their skills
for the World Crokinole Championships.
