ASPARAGUS
PLANTING AND POTLUCK
April 10, 2011
In which a number of friends gathered to help plant a few thousand crowns of asparagus.
GETTING STARTED

Jason prepared the field and told the volunteers what needed done and how to do it.
PLANTING AND SORTING

Jeremy and Bob planted while Robert sorted the crowns into piles of small, medium and large. Camille worked with Robert and said her back hurt as much as Bob’s did.
A LONG ROW TO HOE

It took most of the afternoon, but we got it done. Tim was pleased with himself and wasn’t above taking yoga breaks to straighten out his back.
THE COMMUNITY PART OF LOCAL FOOD

After all that work, we rewarded ourselves by sharing a meal during golden hour.
