HONEYSUCKLE VINE ERADICATION

HONEYSUCKLE
VINE ERADICATION

August, 2010

    A
VINE TO BE RECKONED WITH

We use this side
entrance to come and go to our neighbors and it has been an eyesore just waiting
for correction.  On August 15, Camille took care of it as evidenced by
these before and after pictures.

ALL TIED
UP

She had to tie the
fence to the post because it had been cut short by whomever opened up this
access.  There was also a lot of grubbing needed to clean out the
honeysuckle roots.

TARP FULL

After a few hours,
the fence was clear and the tarp was full.

THE FENCE
BY THE MAIN ROAD

A couple of weeks
later, Camille took on the well established vine along the front fence.
Although it made a nice privacy fence of sorts, the vine has taken over trees
and would eventually kill them.  It was also pulling over the fence like
the vine had done on the previous project.

THE VIEW
OUT OUR OFFICE WINDOW

Before it was a
tangle.  After all we see is a nice clean fence!

LOTS OF
GRUBBING

Some of the
honeysuckle roots were two and three inches in diameter.  Camille tackled
this project with pruners, loppers, a cane knife, a limb saw, fence staples,
fencing tool, a wheelbarrow and a tarp.

HAPPY
FENCE

Eight hours later,
the fence had gone from “whaaaa!” to “ahhhhhh!” and was all
upright again.
