BOB
AND CAMILLE AT HOME ON MAUI

SCREEN TEST

It takes a little effort but
Bob is up to the task of screening our home compost for use in the garden.

OUT OF A SOW’S EAR

We didn’t feel like digging
this stump out so we turned it into a rock garden on April 28.

SHAUN’S SPECIAL SAUCE

Believe it or not, this guy
can cook.  Here he is making a creamy non-dairy sauce to go with fried
hash brown potatoes at a recent Maui Recycling Service meeting.  We get
together every other weekend to share ideas as well as a meal and some
beers.

54/24 BOB CHANGES OIL

On April 24th, Bob tackled the
task of changing the oil in Ruben’s Kann I truck.  We can now add the
hat of biodiesel mechanic to his collection.  This will save the
business money which allows us to buy synthetic oil.  We can now say
that the Kann I truck, like the Bio Pod, does not use any form of fossil
fuel or oil.

EARTH DAY ADVOCACY

The County Recycling Section
lent us a sign and we spent the day furthering the recycling cause on Maui.

Earth Day is our favorite
event because it is colorful and filled with people who already care about
the Earth.

Tradition dictates that Bob
and Shaun take time out for a game of hacky sack and then a rest in the
shade.

VISITORS

Shirley paid us a visit on the
20th and we enjoyed an afternoon of Solving the Problems of the World.

As did this colorful fellow on
the 15th.

GETTING TO THE ROOT OF IT

The Shoveler strikes
again!  This stump finally had to go and Bob is really digging
it.  It was so tenacious, it seemed it must be connected to the center
of the earth.  If someone wanted to get a handle on the world,
this stump would have been the right thing to grab.

What Stump?  Never mind
that “Day Off” Bob was talking about when we got out of bed this
morning.  Once he started messing around with this thing, he just HAD
to finish the job.  When all was said and done, we were ready to plant
more strawberries.

By April 28th, the
strawberries had been planted and the sod replaced.  Doesn’t that look
nice?

THE ART OF TRASH

Maui Recycling Group set up a
table with refreshments at the Ka’ahumanu Shopping Center April 12th and
hosted an art show and entertainment.  Bob and Camille volunteered to
serve refreshments and were asked to wear something
“Trashy.”  Camille is getting her hair done by a professional
here.  Shane responded to the question, “What should I do with my
hair” by winding up the front part in paper napkins.  Shane is
visiting her cousin, Joy and came to the show to help out.

THE OPENING ACT AND THE MAIN
EVENT IN BACKSTAGE MODE

These serious young ladies put
on a great exhibition of African dancing.

Yak, yak, yak.  Why is it
that when women get in a group they all begin talking at once?

LIVE, FROM MAUI

It doesn’t get any trashier
than this.  Some of these models are wearing trash and grocery bags and
others are wearing cast-off clothing that has been artfully sewn together by
Maryls.  Maryls models a black and white ball gown in her purple wig.

Service accounts located near Poli Poli Road in upcountry Maui.

USED COOKING OIL

This is what biodiesel looks
like before it becomes fuel.

THE BUSY BEE

Camille makes lists and
arranges flowers – talk about multi-talented!
