THE BIG MOVE
Don’t look now, but
WE ARE OUT OF HERE!
NEW DIGS
On May 3rd, we received notice
to vacate the cottage at 1530 Pi’iholo Road. Bob found us a new home
on Makawao Avenue the next day.
MOVING DAY – MAY 18TH
OOPS!
While we were walk through our
new space with John, our new landlord, the hardware in the curtain rod over
the kitchen window gave out. Here Camille and John discuss interior
design alternatives while little Koa, John’s faithful friend, looks on
through the front door.
THE RIGHT TOOL
Having the right tool
for the job makes all the difference. Shaun generously shared this 14
foot flat bed truck with us. The hydraulic lift gate saved our backs
and we were able to move everything, including the garden (see Modular
Garden) in only 3 loads.
JUST LOOK FOR THE MAILBOX –
WHAT?
We had told several of our
friends how to find us by looking for the white mailbox beside the
fuchsia-colored bougainvillea across from the Maui Horse Center. As we
were unloading our second truck load of home and garden, a young man in a
blue pick up truck slid across the median and wiped out the mailbox.
Bob, Camille and John ran down to find a dazed driver next to his mother’s
truck. Fortunately, he was stopped by the tree outside our hedge
before running through someone’s living room wall.
BEER-THIRTY
After all that excitement,
Camille declared the time to be beer-thirty and set two pints on the
counter. Later, Bob got to work brewing the next installation and we
prepared to spend the first night in our new home.
FIVE DAYS LATER
Chaos still reigns although
our computers and home entertainment center are operational. By the
end of the month, we were down to 5 unpacked boxes.
