PI’IHOLO RANCH

As seen from horseback in June of 2003

CATTLE

This year’s spring beef crop and their mamas hanging out in the kikuyu grass pastures of the ranch. Haleakala looms in the background.

OHIA GULCH

PICNIC SPOT

Looking back on the the lunch site.

FROM THE TOP

From the top of the Pi’iholo we can see West Maui, Maui’s north shore and the neighbor island of Molokai. The pi’iholo rises over 200 feet above the rest of the ranch and is an excellent place to stop and get some perspective.

A little further on and we are now looking at Maalaea and Maui’s south shore.

We are looking back up Maliko Gulch. We will ride across the pasture on the left of the gulch to get back to the pavilion and corral on the right side. The light colored trees in the gulch are Kukui.
