Lake Ray Roberts Greenbelt Trail

LAKE RAY ROBERTS GREENBELT TRAIL

In which Bob and Camille walk seven miles on a beautiful spring day.

May 20 , 2007

LET’S GO THIS WAY

Said Bob, and so we did.

We immediately discovered that Bob was irresistible to the butterflies. “And who isn’t drawn to him?” Camille had to ask herself, rhetorically.

FEEDING FRENZY

Butterflies love mud and, well, er – other stuff.

EYE CATCHING VISTAS

A blue bird house and newly rolled hay bale.

SUCCULENT BLOOMS

Nectar for the butterflies, who came in droves.

FIREWORKS

OKAY, JUST ONE MORE

HISTORY

Down by the river is what’s left of a bridge said to have been used by Bonnie and Clyde for a getaway.

SLOW

This handsome painted turtle was trying to make a getaway but we were able to run around in front to take this photo.

AND SLOWER

Pretty, but you can bet we didn’t touch this critter!

AN UNTIMELY DEATH

Two armadillos paid the price of keeping the grass and weeds along the trail properly maintained for our recreational enjoyment.
