Fiesta por Quatro

FIESTA POR QUATRO

In which we made up for missing the Mexican Fiesta on the Denton Square by having our very own private Fiesta with Charlie and Jane on September 22, 2007

SHOW ME THE MONEY

The best way to turn a party into a fiesta is with a piñata. Things have been a bit frustrating at work and the thought of taking a stick and beating on something with it appealed to all of us. Bob did some research and plunged right into making the piñata. His first attempt burst in the sun when he put it out to dry. The second try went the distance.

To make the piñata more interesting, Bob rolled up pieces of cardboard and glued then onto the sides with crepe paper streamers.  We filled it with adult treats like chocolate and those little airline bottles of liquor that Jane brought.

TURN AROUND

Jane went first. After she was blindfolded, Charlie showed her where the piñata was by helping her tap it with her broom handle. Then he turned her around three times and got out of the way.

Jane has a pretty good swing and would have hit it right away if Bob hadn’t pulled on the other end of the line and raised her target.

LIBERATED LIQUOR

Jane kept swinging and broke the fishing line. The piñata flew to the ground and liberated a bottle of tequila. Way to go, Jane! The bottle was broken when we found it, so Charlie did the right thing and drank it. Later on this cute bottle of Grey Goose Vodka was also liberated.

CAMILLE WAS NEXT

Charlie turned Camille around three times and then she started swinging.

THEN IT WAS BOB’S TURN

Charlie enjoyed watching Jane get Bob ready. Bob was a mighty hitter but Camille was not a mighty photographer.

She did, however get this picture of Bob enjoying the game.

CHARLIE’S TURN

Charlie was raring to go by this time and Camille wasn’t sure if she was going to get out of the way before he started swinging.

He went after the piñata with a vengeance and succeeded in breaking it open.

BOOTY

When Jane crouched over the cache of liquor and candy, we noticed her blue nail polish. Bob got a good picture of her stylish feet later on.
