AMANDA FEEDS 50 POUNDS OF WORMS ON A BRIGHT WINTER DAY

  

First, she takes these food scraps from the Chatham Marketplace and grinds them up.

 

Sometimes the food gets stuck and Amanda has to take a two by four to the hopper. This reminded us of Fargo and that’s how we learned that Amanda is from Minnesota.

 

Amanda just kept working on the stuff until it went on through.

Turns out it was the roots from Screech’s hydroponic lettuce.


SCREECH BUILT THE GREENHOUSE

 

Speaking of Screech, here he is, come over to chit chat. We complimented him on the nice job he did with the greenhouse. The worms are toasty in there and we thought we’d quite like to live in a greenhouse ourselves. Amanda sure seems to enjoy her work with her worms.


GETTING SERIOUS


Amanda transitions into documentation mode by weighing the food and recording her findings on a log sheet.


FINALLY IT WAS TIME TO FEED


Those happy little red wigglers (Eisenia foetida) seemed to jump for joy as Amanda ladled in their ground up food scraps.


A WORMS EYE VIEW

They say it’s a dog’s life but we are beginning to think it might be pretty nice to be a worm.
