Spring Shakori – 2009

SPRING SHAKORI MUSIC FESTIVAL

April 17, 2009

TICKET BOOTH

The ticket booth is where every one begins their journey into the hippie limbo of a Shakori Hills Music Festival. Festival goers are greeted by smiling faces such as Colleen’s. They come to buy tickets, pick up tickets and pick up free passes as in the case of band members, vendors and volunteers.

Colleen and Bubba at the Will Call desk. A couple of happy folks waiting to claim their tickets.

This lady posed with Camille after having her face painted.

MUSIC, DANCE AND HULA

Tami and Lyle shake it up to Keith Frank’s zydeco music. The grounds were filled with dancers and hula hoopers.

LOTS OF GOOD FRIENDS

Mary Beth and Mike were only a couple of our many friends that we saw at the Festival.

SUSTAINABILITY FAIR AND ARTS AND CRAFT VENDORS

Val gave a talk about the Eight Principals of Deep Ecology on Saturday morning. Shakori is a good place to pick up some tie dye.

AND A CHICKEN DRIVING A TRACTOR ON BIODIESEL

PJ donned the now famous chicken suit and hauled people and their camping equipment around the site.

MIXING WORK AND PLEASURE

Camille spent some time at the Abundance Foundation’s Solarize Shakori tent, receiving donations from people who want to help get the Festival off the grid in the future.

ANNUAL BIOFUELS COOP MEETING

What better place to have an annual meeting than at Shakori Hills? Executive Director Caleb and Treasurer, Bob spoke to the group which included board and coop. Andy holds a visual aid while Greg and Moya look on.

Most of our friends and co-workers were at this meeting, including Dana, Matt and PJ in his chicken suit. Also Kate, Moya, Scott, Rachel and Lyle.
