PEPPERS FOR VODKA<\/h3>\n
Bob and others are growing a specialty pepper for Fair Game Beverage Company’s Flying Pepper Vodka. The tobago pepper (aka Aji Dulce) is a mild habanero with all of the flavor and very little heat.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We’ve intentionally surrounded ourselves with plants that delight visually, with fragrance and flavor. More eye-candy on:\u00a0August Yard and Garden<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n In only three weeks, Bob was fully recovered from Bell’s Palsy and able to smile like a normal person instead of Dick Cheney. We were expecting his recovery to take months, holding little hope that he’d be able to smile at daughter Emily’s wedding September 2nd.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Camille likes to walk through the woods to a particular tree and get grounded on a bench the neighbors put there for exactly that purpose. See more at:\u00a0Carl’s World<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The swallowtails are in overdrive at The Plant<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Piedmont Biofuels’ summer intern, John learned to bake bread in our Trouts Farm kitchen.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Holding a quart of biodiesel, John says farewell to his Piedmont Biofuels mentors Bob and Lyle.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Just as a reminder, we live in the South, a place where they name the grocery stores after farm animals.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We invited a few friends for dinner and used that as an excuse to have roast turkey-like protein, roasted potatoes, stuffing, gravy, okra and sweet pickles.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Next month daughter Emily and her fiance Tyler will tie the knot in Colorado.\u00a0So Camille invested in a new pair of shoes.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Camille has been spending time with Leslie and her two horses Sammy and Magic. They’ve been riding Sammy in a mechanical hackamore but thought they’d tie up a rope halter\/side-pull and give it a go.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sammy and Leslie say bye bye for a couple of weeks because Bob and Camille\u00a0are heading to Colorado for Emily and Tyler’s wedding.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Despite being knee deep in wedding plans, Emily and Tyler graciously invited us for breakfast the morning we arrived in Colorado.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We were delighted to see for ourselves how happily\u00a0Bob’s grandson Nolan\u00a0has taken to\u00a0life on this planet.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n From Denver we drove north to stay with Rob and Sharyl in Fort Collins, stopping in Berthoud for a look at the grain elevator and the windows of our old second floor apartment.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Camille ran errands with Sharyl and they paid a short visit to Cheryl. Her Andalusian\u00a0Tenorio has grown into a very large horse since we last saw him as a yearling in 2006. See what we all looked like then at: Playing with Cheryl’s Horses<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Julie joined us for an early dinner at\u00a0Sharyl\u00a0and Rob’s\u00a0and\u00a0brought us two framed photos of Jessie the Wonder Horse. Jessie was our horse for ten years and Julie’s until he went to horse heaven at age 30. Rob was traveling, but we’ll see photos of him in September.
