We spent a couple of days as guests in the home of Jeremy and Brian as Bob troubleshot their biodiesel lab equipment. More photos at: Catawba<\/a><\/p>\n Our friend Jeremy has been up in New York at Columbia University, learning to turn food waste into biodiesel in preparation for an assignment involving fecal sludge in Africa. He relocated to Ghana on May 10th and we plan on joining him.<\/p>\n Spot stays home and keeps his eye on things.<\/p>\n Next door neighbor Olivia joined Camille in making a chocolate beet cake for new housemate Shannon’s Birthday. Shannon and Brian came over and got to know our mascot Spot.<\/p>\n Apparently, the pear trees we planted two years ago are happy and well as they are already practicing the art of bearing fruit.<\/p>\n May 10th was one of those sparkling bright days as seen on these views of the front corner garden and the poplar tree.<\/p>\n We think the moon rises and sets in our beautiful daughters, Emily, Amy and Molly. Here’s Amy before she heads back to Asheville after a lovely weekend visit.<\/p>\n We kicked off another annual family visit with a stop in DC to break up the drive. As always, Ned puts us up and entertains us with long walks along the Potomac. Frankie and Jessica joined us for dinner one evening and Brother Joe flew in from California a couple of days later. As always, we had a lot of fun. More photos here: Ned’s World<\/a><\/p>\n After leaving DC, we spent a delightful evening with Bob’s childhood friend, Dee – reminiscing about their grade school days together in Ghana. We looked at photos, checked out Dee’s Harley and went out for Indian food in Morgantown, West Virginia.<\/p>\n No trip to Pennsylvania is complete without a stop at the Dickinson College Farm. Since we were there last, Matt helped design a disc golf course at an park adjacent to the farm. Their sheep are doing well and Camille jumped at the chance to hold a little lamb named “Hungry Boy” in her arms. More views from the farm and golf course here: Dickinson College Farm<\/a><\/p>\n We love weddings and were fortunate to witness Christina and Lou tie the knot in Jim and Kathryn’s stomping grounds. Brother Joe brought Mom Illo to the delight of all. After the young couple headed off on their honeymoon, the family had a lavish brunch and wandered over to check out the house by the lake that Jim and Kathryn are eying for their next home.
