<\/a><\/p>\nBob’s new auditing job has him frequently up in the air. This is the air over Kansas, with it’s monster farms of corn.<\/p>\n

LIBERAL, KANSAS<\/h3>\n
Leaving Glenn L. Martin Air Terminal in a rental car towards. Liberal, Kansas, a town of 20,000, is the land of pick up trucks and Toot ‘n Totums.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This land is so flat “If your dog runs away you can watch him run for two days,” according to one of the farmers Bob talked with. Here in Liberal they drive giant tractors and honor their women with monuments.<\/p>\n The plaque on this statue reads: <\/p>\n A man’s gotta eat so these trips eventually involve food eaten out. Bob usually has a good idea what his options are at his destination before he boards the plane. When he fails to find a place that serves Impossible Burgers, he goes for vegetarian-friendly Mexican restaurants. In Liberal, he found a well-earned reward at El Amigo Chavez, and a soothing mural at another place.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n When an opportunity to spend a week in Colorado presented itself, we jumped at the chance to see our lovely girls and their families. See the\u00a0Pre-Christmas Colorado Fun<\/a> page for more pictures.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Two nights in North Carolina and Bob was off to Illinois.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It’s not really home, but such a comfortable suite definitely takes some of the sting out of business travel.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Chicago sparkles and glows at night. Very pretty.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Although Spot has retreated to the porch, he still gets to wear his holiday bow.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Succulent lettuce, sweet carrots, and crisp hakurai salad turnips from the Thursday market. For Camille, this means salad for breakfast every day!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Minuscule cauliflower, dew-laden kale,<\/p>\n and burgeoning broccoli, all planted as seedlings on September 9th, a bit stunted by a mid-month snow.<\/p>\n THIS MONTH’S QUOTES:<\/span><\/p>\n “Children bring with them grace, patience, transcendence, second chances, rebirth and a reawakening of the love that’s in your heart and present in your home.
