WORK HARD, PLAY HARD<\/h3>\n
Helen, Ted, and Bob have demanding jobs, the kind that demand a day away now and again. You can see Jordan Lake Dam off Ted’s right shoulder, and looking at it from the water, we remembered being on that dam not long ago, suffering from the heat and looking longingly at the lake.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We flew across the lake like a bird, and then settled into a cove to look at eagles, eat snacks, and tell stories.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We hesitated, the water the color of tea, tainted by leaf tannin, but after taking the plunge we were sold and will do it again and again. The guys went in first to untangle the line to the boat anchor. Camille wrestles with a piece of foam designed for floating but as elusive as an unbroken colt.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This is how the other half lives; excuse us – the 5% perhaps – with A\/C, gas grills, and ski jets on their boat houses, and sleek cruisers and daysailers.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n When Ted opens the throttle, it’s time to hold on to your hat.<\/p>\n Out on a boat with our friends Helen and Ted, tooling around and staying cool in the summer heat – June 23, 2019 <\/p>\n <\/p>\n THE BEST TOYS <\/p>\n \n Our friends’ truck, trailer, and hot rod boat.
