In which we hang out at Ned’s, have dinner with Frankie and Jessica and spend time with brother Joe<\/h4>\n

BURRITO NIGHT AT NED’S<\/h4>\n

\"Burrito<\/a>\u00a0 \"Jessica\"<\/a><\/h4>\n

The weather was so perfect, we were able to prep the vegetables for burritos outside on Ned’s deck. Jessica and Camille collaborated on the onions, garlic, peppers and cilantro.<\/p>\n

EASTER ISLAND AVOCADOS AND ALIENS<\/h4>\n

\"Frankie\"<\/a>\u00a0 \"Aliens!\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Frankie was in charge of the avocados. Giving in to his creative side, he carved them into icons reminiscent of Kwakitutl or Easter Island cultures.<\/p>\n

SMART CAR<\/h4>\n

\"Smart<\/a><\/p>\n

When it was time for Jessica and Frankie to leave, Bob drove them to a pick up point where they swiped their card across the dashboard of a Smart Car and drove away into the night.<\/p>\n

LOCK HOUSE 8<\/h4>\n

Brother Joe flew in the next day and Ned went to work so the three of us vacationers went for a nice, long walk along the Potomac past Lock House #8.<\/p>\n

POTOMAC<\/h4>\n

Ever flowing, every captivating! Ned lives in the perfect place to take advantage of the extensive walking trails along this beautiful river.<\/p>\n

ROAD KILL BEAR<\/h4>\n

\"Joe,<\/a>\u00a0 \"Road<\/a><\/p>\n

At the approach to the walkway across historic Cabin John Bridge, we enountered a road kill teddy bear that had been placed atop a concrete platform. We found it simultaneously sad and repulsive, and ultimately worth photographing.<\/p>\n

CABIN JOHN BRIDGE<\/h4>\n

\"Joe<\/a>\u00a0 \"Cabin<\/a><\/p>\n

Our goal on this day was to walk across historic Cabin John Bridge, made of granite and sandstone. It was designed as part of the Washington Aqueduct, rises over 100 above Cabin John Creek and was completed in 1864. There are some nice photos of its construction on this site<\/a>.<\/p>\n

SUNGLASSES<\/h4>\n

Tradition dictates we capture an image of Ned and Bob in sunglasses. Click on the photo to see an older version Ned and Bob in sunglasses.<\/p>\n

RETURN TRIP<\/h4>\n

We spent one more night in Cabin John on our return trip south.<\/p>\n

MY TIE<\/h4>\n

We took ourselves out to dinner for a change. Inspired by a mai tai, Bob tied a cherry stem using only his mouth and then we all swapped glasses just for fun. Click on the picture to see the first example of this new tradition. Bob is wearing Ned’s glasses, Camille is wearing Bob’s and Ned is wearing Camille’s. High times are indeed a given when we get together with our friend Ned!<\/p>\n

GLEN ECHO PARK<\/h4>\n

After dinner we went for a stroll through whimsical Glen Echo Park, former amusement park turned artists community. On this evening there was a group of stone sculptors busily tinking away with hammers and chisels.<\/p>\n
