PORCUPINES AND COCOYAM<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n The porcupine is the mascot of the Asante Kotoko\u00a0Football\u00a0Club, the Kumasi based soccer team that is last years league champion. This particular kotoko (porcupine in Twi) graces a sticker on the giant excavator that was formerly used to de-sludge the fecal sludge ponds. On the right is a volunteer cocoyam plant (aka taro) coming up through the rocks at our plant site. Bob has transplanted eight of these to our home garden where Camille will harvest the kontomire (the leaves) to make Palaver Sauce.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n EGRETS, TRASH, AND JUNGLE<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n De-sludging is finally happening at the ponds, and the cattle egrets don’t seem to mind.
