HAMMOCK TIME<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Koffi, who works with Elodie at the Green Ranch, takes his first test drive in a hammock. It is obvious that Jeremy is a veteran\u00a0hammock\u00a0pilot as he takes a break from work and school.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n LOCAL FOOD BEGINS AT HOME<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n There’s a lot going on in our yard and gardens these days. Jeremy is finding eggs in the yard, Amy keeps busy planting and harvesting, and we enjoy a spectacular meal together just after sunset most every night. For more pictures of our yard and gardens, please visit: At Home in Kumasi<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n NOT JUST FOR DINNER<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Our dining room table is amendable to many uses, including the repair of cell phones and Tetris.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n WALKING AFRICA<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Camille has vowed to learn all the names of all 57 African countries and has been helped along by this wooden map that hangs in the kitchen. She is also engaged in a project to put Kumasi street names on the map which requires a lot of walking. Speaking of walking, we walk to dinner nearly every Sunday night. Here Bob, Justin and Amy and Jeremy are on their way to Nik’s pizza where we will meet our friends Kat and Agye.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n PARTYING HARDY<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n We’ve turned into social butterflies! On March 16th we hosted the Post Harmatan Potluck and Barbecue and the next day walked over to Steve and Laura’s for a St. Patrick’s Day Pool Party. More on this page:\u00a0<\/span>A Two-party Month<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n WHEN IN NEED, GET THIS MAN. INDEED<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Bob reached up to throw the hammock rope over a roof beam and jumped down in a hurry, a shocked look on his face. Not sure of what had just happened, he gingerly tried to feed the loop through the space between wood and metal roof and realized with a shock that the roof was ‘hot.’ John Agyeman to the rescue. Using that spiffy new ladder bob brought home, he climbed to the roof to see what was going on.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n DODGY WIRING<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Apparently, the workers who wired up this house strung wires willy nilly without any protection. John stood on the banister and carefully wedged a piece of PVC pipe between live wire and metal roof to fix our problem. Then he went inside to figure out why Justin got shocked three times in a row while removing his laundry from the washing machine.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n LEISURE<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Amy has a laugh while playing Big Two at the dining room table after dinner. Camille shares happy moments with Laura, Danni and Kat (taking the photo) with Elvira at her beautiful home.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n ELVIRA AND ITALO<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Elvira and Italo have owned this home for only twelve years and in that time the landscaping went from nothing to lush jungle. The wood fired pizza oven is one of the most exciting elements of their home. Elvira makes the best pizza Camille has tasted since leaving New Jersey in the ’60’s. We saw basil, celery, peppers and eggplant happily growing under the mango and avocado trees.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HOLY COW<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span> Camille has been waiting for the day she’d see a cow hanging out in our neighborhood, where we regularly see wandering chickens, goats, and sheep. On Sunday, March 24th, she walked over to the neighborhood shop for some macaroni and realized that this was the day!<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n BURUKU AND PARAGLIDING<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n On the last weekend of the month Amy and Jeremy ventured into the Eastern Region to meet up with Laura and friends for some hiking, camping and paragliding!
