A
GOOD DAY TO GO TO THE BEACH
If
you could go anywhere on Maui for Memorial Day, where would you go?
HOW
ABOUT THIS BEACH FOR STARTERS?
We
started our Memorial Day getaway at Po’olenalena
Beach Park for some snorkeling. We saw a snowflake eel and
a green sea turtle along with a nice array of reef fish. The turtle
seemed unconcerned by our presence. It swam towards us to see what we
were and then went back to eating algae.
Chang’s
Beach is the local name for Po’olenalena Beach Park. It is located in
Makena and is favored by the locals. Shaun and Pamela like this beach
and we decided to try it out. It was refreshing to see these boys
having such a good time with a piece of old carpet.
NEXT
STOP, WAILEA
After
our snorkel at Chang’s Beach, we drove over to Wailea Beach for some more
swimming.
Here
is a view of the other side of Wailea Beach.
RELAXATION
IS ONLY A SHORT DRIVE AWAY
Who
is the shadowy figure in the foreground? Most of the people in the
background had to fly here but Bob only had to take a 40 minute drive.
FISHING
Bob
wasn’t the only local at Wailea Beach on this morning.
WEST
MAUI FROM WAILEA BEACH
Wearing
a flowing mane of white cloud, West Maui seems to be racing across the
water.
OUR
FAITHFUL POD
When
we had enjoyed enough salt water frolicking, our little car was waiting to
take us home. We left before the parking lot filled up.
