MONCURE DECK PARTY
Celebrating July Birthdays - Jason, Josh, Rachel and Tim
July 18, 2009
A PERFECT PLACE FOR A PARTY
Scott and Rachel's home is a great venue for a party. The weather was perfect, too - dry, not too hot, little puffs of breeze. So party we did! On the right, Rachel, Julie and Kent share a plate of delicious food on the edge of the deck.
BIRTHDAY CAKE
You can't have a birthday without a cake. Chrissa created the best carrot cake we've ever tasted. She made it with carrots from Jason and Haruka's farm, Edible Earthscapes and festooned it with ribbons of candied carrots. Rachel set all our mouths to watering when she cut into Chrissa's amazing cake.
GRILLED SAUSAGE, HOME MADE TARTS AND LOCAL WINE
Jason grills birthday sausage, Chris and Lynette arrived with some exquisite berry tarts and Haruka opens a bottle of local Chardonnay.
EAT, DRINK, BE MERRY
Mary Elizabeth, Anna Marie, Jack and Adah working on the watermelon and beer piece of the evening.
GOOD FRIENDS - GREAT CONVERSATIONS
Camille met and got to know new friends Esta, Kim, Chrissa and Murray and had a good time catching up with old friends Chris, Tim and Michelle.
THE NEXT GENERATION
There were lots of kids at the Moncure deck party, including Chris and Anky's Kai and Xiao Hu and Fei Yin's Niu Niu.
EXECUTIVE LOUNGE
The keg "room," an open-sided shelter was a great place to hang out for PJ, Camille, Mary Beth and Caleb.
RELAXING INTO THE EVENING
Bob and Jim positioned themselves near the keg and provided social commentary. David, Zulayka, Moya, Nathan and Sarah share some chit chat and laughs.
Nathan and Sarah were having a good time while Glenn, Christine, Adah and Mary Elizabeth clown around in the background. Jim enjoys a laugh with Holly and Jeremy.
GAMES PEOPLE PLAY
Anna Marie hits the croquet ball while Jan, Crystal, Tim, Caleb, Jason and Josh look on. Jim juggles pins.
PASSING THE BALL
Scott and Bob took on the challenge of juggling between themselves.
