Our yard blooms bright in May of 2020
MOSTLY FLOWERS
When the gladiolus bloom we know Camille’s birthday is just around the corner.
PEONIES
Festiva Maxima!
ROSES
Our Fragrant Cloud, and a yellow Radiant Perfume from Shaine’s garden. Both smell divine.
ALL TOGETHER, NOW
May is the best month for arranging flowers.
GROUND COVER
We like our ice plants and so do the bees.
ALL THE GREENS
So many shades of green, from the zebra grass on back to the mimosa behind the red tips.
DROUGHT TOLERANT
Lavender likes water during its first year, but once established can go weeks without rain. The prickly pear cactus in Fred and Reda’s yard is setting on blooms.
SEDUM AUTUMN JOY
This is a volunteer that popped up after we removed the butterfly bush, and we’re happy to have it.
FIRE ANTS
Camille stomps on a nest between hot water assaults. She had to dig out one of the new lavender plants and kill the ants before plugging it back in.
RAIN
Tropical Storm Arthur brought us six inches of rain.
