RUNNING MYCELIUM

Rob and Bob team up for mushroom clinic on March 3rd.

PREPARING FOR SUMMER

Bob has been laying in supplies and putting in hours of hard work so we can have a garden this year.  More on both projects on Spring Planting at Camelina.

GOLDEN HOUR

There is no better time to take photographs.  As you can see, spring has not yet reached North Carolina.

WALKING TO WORK

Link's friend Ashley spent her spring break at Oilseed.  On this day, she and Camille walked Link to the creek and watched while he waded across barefoot on his way to work.

TICK SEASON

Ticks abound here and we know at least two people who have had lymes disease.  This distinctive fellow is a Lone Star Tick.

FREE FOOD

The Freegan Dive Team spent a night pulling perfectly good food from dumpsters.  They put together ten boxes of food and distributed them to their friends.  Here are the contents of our box - Apples, pears and oranges, cherry tomatoes, baby artichokes, half a loaf of bread, a pound of button mushrooms, an onion, a sweet potato and a nice piece of ginger root.

THE FREEGAN DIVE TEAM

Here are some of the members of our local chapter of food recovery experts: Tim, Jack, Link and Adah.  Jack and Link are sporting their cool summer hair styles, courtesy of Adah.  In case you're wondering what is going on in the second photo, Adah is biting the end of Link's pigtail.

POLENTA PIE

The mushrooms went into this polenta pie before I took the photo of the rest of the food.

CSA

We joined Piedmont Biofarm's Community Supported Agriculture program and will be getting this kind of produce every week through mid-December.

PARTY BY THE CREEK

SIGNS OF SPRING

The redbuds are one of the first to show off their color in the otherwise drab woods.

THIS MONTH'S QUOTES:
