BOB AND CAMILLE, Enjoying the dog days of summer

THIRTEEN YEARS AGO - COLORADO, 1993

Little Amy, age four, stands in front of one of the Swetsville Zoo animals in miss-matched socks.  On August 26, Amy turned 17 years old.

PLAYING WITH OUR FOOD

Bob seems mighty pleased with himself for growing this beautiful Swiss Chard.

A co-worker once advised Camille never to eat anything bigger than her head.  I wonder if this applies to lettuce?

HOW 'BOUT THOSE CUKES!

Yes, and cucumbers, too!  Lordy, lordy, lordy!

RED, WHITE AND BLUE POTATOES

These came from the Farmer's Market.

PRESTO, CHANGO

And we turned them into a patriotic potato salad on August 13 to be eaten with baked teriyaki tofu and pickles.  The marigolds came from Bob's Biodiesel Garden.

MUTT AND JEFF

You can't tell from this picture, but "T" on the left is a 17-hand Belgian cross and Macaroni, on the right, is a 14.2-hand POA or Pony of the Americas.  Camille has been riding both these characters lately and is giving riding lessons to four young ladies using Macaroni and another, smaller pony named Cowboy Joe.

PICTURE PERFECT

It's Sunday, August 20 and we couldn't have picked a prettier day to go for a long walk.  It's hard to imagine this lagoon might well be covered in ice a few months from now.

BOB PONDERS

The beauty of nature?  The nature of man?  The secrets of the reeds?  We'll never know unless we ask him.

ACORNS AND ALGAE

A contrast in greens.

THERE'S THAT MAN AGAIN!

Watching the birds and looking content with a morning of wandering around in the sun with his big buddy, Camille.

YIN AND YANG

These sentinels of the river bank look as if they would fit together like puzzle pieces.

OLIVES AND PLUMS

All the trees were heavy with fruit on this day, from the Russian Olives to the Wild Plums.

PUBLIC ART

Art can soothe, excite, perplex or disturb its viewers.  A life-sized bronze sits placidly on the bank of the lagoon while a trio of nudes in the center of a nearby roundabout sparks controversy within the community.

THELMA AND LOUISE?

Or Sharon and Camille out for their daily walk.  For more photos of this routine activity, click on  Every Day Walk.
