The setting for most of our weekend walks – May, 2020
WALK #1 – CLICK BEETLE
A very large bug with fake eyes attached itself to Bob at Jordan Lake Dam.
WALK #2 – AUDUBON OBSERVATION DECK
To change things up, we drove over to another side of the lake for our second Off Farrington and Martha’s Chapel.
Not much to see on this morning, but an enjoyable walk nonetheless.
JORDAN LAKE DAM
Catching vultures and fractal trees with our new camera.
An old bird with white feathers.
CLARK POE
Bob in the sun at another new spot. We parked at the end of the road and walked down to the lapping water of Jordan Lake.
Bob points to a “stick out” and we try out the macro setting on the Sony a6100.
Queen Anne’s Lace, a weed firmly rooted in childhood memories.
Clark Poe ends in the watery grave of Jordan Lake. We’ve heard it said there are also railroad tracks beneath the flooded Haw behind Jordan Lake Dam.
JORDAN LAKE DAM
Roiling with rainwater on the last day of the month.
DUNG ROLLER
We watched for a long time the tireless efforts of a beetle rolling a ball of poop across the asphalt atop the dam.
