FRANKIE AND JESSICA'S DC WORLD
May 24, 2008
THE ABRALINDS LIVE HERE
Frankie Abralind, Editor of Biodiesel Smarter and his wife, Jessica live in Washington DC. They put us up for the night in their cozy apartment within walking distance to the bus, the subway and an ice cream shop where we had dessert after dinner. Jessica was sporting a serious case of poison ivy and wasn't the least bit shy about it.
Their friends had stayed the night before and left behind some great 3-D glasses and comic books which kept Frankie occupied for some time.
HOME SPUN ART
Frankie and Jessica like to paint, both apart and together. Frankie did the zebra on the left and the two of them collaborated on the painting on the right.
MASS TRAIN SIT
After we got settled in, we went out to an art exhibit and took full advantage of the mass transit. We were happy they showed us how to buy tickets and use the turnstiles. It was a beautiful day in the city.
INSIDE THE ARTOMATIC EXHIBIT
What a great way to while away a couple of hours. It would have taken about fifty hours to look at everything but we were pleased with what we saw. Especially the interactive video and the Peep Art Exhibit.
PEEP ART
Peeps are a new cultural phenomenon, and we were tickled to see these funny little dioramas at Artomatic.
