WILD ROSE AND BUTTERCUPS

 

Camille walked up the street and through the woods to Lisa's house, past the flowering wild rose and the pony pasture. 

 

TOM TOM

 

Out in the yard, Lisa's tom turkey worked very hard to impress.

 

A FAMILY AFFAIR

 

Lisa showed Camille how to hitch Spec to the cart while her daughter Grace tacked up her pony.  It is very important to get a cart in the correct size for the pony, which is where the phrase, "putting the cart before the horse" comes from.  Look over Lisa's right shoulder and you will see Grace cantering her pony in the pasture.

 

GRACE

 

Not only was Grace a graceful and talented rider, she has a great deal of social graces.  When I arrived, she introduced herself and gave me some ripe mulberries.

 

A LEVEL SEAT

Back to the horse and the cart dimensions, as you can see the seat on the cart is level.  If the pony were taller, the seat would tip back.  A smaller pony will have the seat tipping forward.  Equally important is the length of the shafts.  There is so much to learn!
